Bendigo Bank
Calwell and Wanniassa Community Bank branches

Bendigo Bank community banking is based on the belief that

“when people bank together,

plan together – individuals do better and the community benefits at the same time.”

Community Bank enterprises are unique in the banking world in so far as they operate to return profit to the community by way of sponsorship of events and organizations. Autism Asperger ACT wishes to thank Bendigo Bank Calwell and Wanniassa Community Bank branches for their continuing support, and their sponsorship of the 2010 Gala Dinner.

Community Banks at Calwell and Wanniassa are part of the network of community banks within the Bendigo Bank. These banks make up over half of the 430 Bendigo Bank branches around the country and differ from the Bendigo Bank owned branches. They are locally operated and managed branches — many are owned by the same local community. The company shareholders that operate the Calwell and Wanniassa Community Bank sites are almost all Canberra residents.

Bendigo Calwell and Wanniassa Community Bank branches have been delivering banking products and services to their customers equal to those of their competitors for eight years. Their added personalised focus of meeting the needs of their community is demonstrated by donating and sponsoring over $100 000 to the local region every year.

Autism Asperger ACT are the lucky recipients of some of this generous support.

Community banks are different from other conventional large banking corporations because they are community based and their aim is to serve the community.

Calwell and Wanniassa Bendigo Community Bank branches are again this year proud to support Autism Asperger ACT.
